Hello,
I have received a .mdb (Microsoft Access Database) file, which I need to use as a termbase in a translation for a client.

How do I create a termbase from this type of file?

I am rather new at Multiterm, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Multiterm 2011 and Trados Studio 2011.

Thanks.

Excel file Nov 28, 2012

You can save the bilingual texts as an Excel file.
MultiTerm can import Excel file as termbase quite quickly.

No need to convert Nov 28, 2012

Dear bendksu,

You don't need to convert .mdb. Simply open it in Multiterm and then assign it to your project in Studio.

*To open the .mdb in Multiterm:
Select Termbase>Open, then Browse on the right hand side of the window, and then select your file.

*To assign the Multiterm termbase to your Studio project:
In Project View, right click on your project, then on the left side Project Settings > All Language Pairs > Termbases. Here you can add termbases to the project and also set the orders of the termbases if there are more than one.

One more comment:
It is possible that the .mbd was created in a previous version of Multiterm, but in this case the software offers you automatically an option for the conversion.

Kind regards,

Gyula
