I have a very simple question that I am sure I am asking with the wrong words. When I am translating in a segment in SDL Trados 2011, how do I go down a line? The original segment is multiple lines but I cannot seem to make multiple lines in the target segment unless I copy the original in and just click through the lines, deleting the original text as I go.

If I hit enter, nothing happens. Obviously, ctrl+enter auto confirms the translation. alt+enter also seems to do nothing. Is there something I am missing?

Soft return? Mar 4, 2013

Do you mean a soft return, using shift+Enter?

Yes, thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for. I knew it had to be simple I just couldn't figure out how to do it.

Thank you again!

You're welcome! Lots of Windows keyboard short cuts work in Studio too, from obvious ones such as Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, to less obvious ones such as F7 for spellcheck, and shift+F3 for toggling between upper and lower case letters.

Anyway, I'm glad the shift+Enter helped in your case!
