How come when I try to import a TMX translation memory sent by a client I get this error message when it get to the final step window "Veuillez patienter pendant l'importation des données..." : Données non valides au niveau racine. Ligne 1, position 1.

I can export my TM into a TMX file without problem, but what do I do wrong??

Thanks for your help,

Patricia

The corresponding error message in English is: "Data at the root level is invalid"

What does the header (first couple of lines) of that TMX say about its version and creator? Just open the TMX file in a text editor (eg. Notepad, Workpad etc.) to find it out.

You could try opening the TMX in Olifant and re-exporting it with Olifant under another name.

Maybe an invalid character Mar 18, 2013

Hi Patricia,

it may be that the TMX contains an invalid character.

you could add the .xml extension to the file and open it Firefox and this should allow you to pinpoint the invalid spot.
Open then the file in a text editor where you can replace or remove the invalid character, close the file and save.

Lorenzo
