Another question about paid OpenExchange apps:

The Microsoft Visio file format (.vdx) appears not to be supported
natively in SDL Trados Studio. There's a paid OpenExchange app for it
(price: 99 to 450 euros, depending on the version):

http://www.translationzone.com/en/openexchange/AppDetails.aspx?appid=300
http://www.tracom.de/de/software/visio-for-sdl-trados-studio/

Has anyone experience with it? In particular, do you know how it compares with the native support found built-in in memoQ (or other tools that support .vxd out of the box)?

Use Trados 2007 Mar 21, 2013

Trados 2007 does support Visio XML (.vdx) files. In my opinion, it's a much better product than Studio in all other aspects, too.

Neither Trados 2007 nor DSL Studio 2011 support DVX files Jul 11, 2013

What should I do to process DVX files? In my case, unfortunately, neither Trados 2007 nor DSL Studio 2011 with the Microsoft Vision plug-in seem to work. Why? Should I install something else or download some additional converters/tools? I tried TagEditor in Trados 2007 and it returned "unknown DOCTYPE" - should I add some settings or ini files - where can I find them?

Wordfast Pro supports Visio vdx files with a free plugin available at http://www.wordfast.net/wiki/Translation_of_Visio_Files .
You can convert a Visio vsd file to vdx by sending it as an attachment in a blank email to vsdconverter@csodessa.com . It will be automatically returned as a vdx in a few minutes.

Wordfast Pro will run free with all features until you hit the 500 TU limit.

DVX s Déjà Vu (neither handled in Trados), Visio is VDX,

I tried TagEditor in Trados 2007 and it returned "unknown DOCTYPE" - should I add some settings or ini files - where can I find them?

An ini file for Visio is available in Trados 2007 (at the default location) but it's not declared by default.
It's not perfect but it should work, at least for older Visio versions.

Cheers
