Dear Sir/Madam,

My client is using Trados 2006 and I have been using Trados 2011 to work on my translations. We always encounter an issue wherein the TM I have from my version doesn't work with my client's version of Trados which is 2006. They say the TM I sent contains 0 translation units.

What I do is, after completing my translations I generate the bilingual files and convert the sdltm TM to .tmx.

Will there be a way that my TM will work with their Trados version?

I'd appreciate your help.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
Stephanie

I'm not sure what formats are supported in Trados 2006, probably similar to 2007 but don't know, should be able to import a .tmx. I'd download SDLTmConvert from OpenExchange and give it a go.

Bernard

Hi,

I think a different application may be better for this as noted in this article.

Also an explanation of how to export to TMX.

Abrigela.

Your solution seems more suited to convert to legacy TMs.

Hi Abrigela,

Thank you very much.

I will look into this. I appreciate your help.

Though, my usual problem is that I am able to create a .tmx using the import/export function of Studio 2011, however, my client sends this back to me because in most cases they get 0 translation units or won't work in their Studio version.

Must be I am missing a step?

Best regards,
Stephanie
