I work on a project with a lot of rather big TagEditor files from RTF.
for example. the one i am translating has a word count of 11000 words.
Opening i rather fast, but no even 10 sec. but when i try to save it it take ages (about 10 to 12 minutes), and sometimes it fails.
Does anybody have a solution?

Did you try disabling your antivirus? If you find that helps, add an exception for the Studio 2011 program in your AV software.

Generate Document Structure Information Apr 11, 2013

You probably need to disable "Generate document Structure information" in file types.
I think you will then have to re-create your project.

HTH,
Emma

Do you have Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows Defender installed? Apr 11, 2013

If you have Windows Defender (Microsoft Security Essentials) installed add SDL Trados Studio to the Excluded processes.

See the following thread: http://www.proz.com/forum/sdl_trados_support/229145-sdl_trados_studio_2011_sp2_slow-page4.html

Thanks, guys Aug 22, 2013

I was experiencing the same problem.

I added Studio to the list of excluded processes and it works fine now.

Thanks!

99% improvement in file saving time Aug 25, 2013

Well, that cut the time it takes to save large SDLXLIFFs by 99%.
Is this only relevant for Windows 8 or should I mail this to all my acquaintances who still have Windows 7?

Yes... Aug 26, 2013

My experience is that Studio 2011 with Windows 7 and Mircrosoft Security Essential or Windows Defender activated without placing the .sdlxliff files and studio.exe in the excluded processes and files would cause tremendous delays in the saving process. I recommend mailing your acquaintances.
