SDL Studio 2009/2011

On numerous occasions we have to translate files containing huge chunks of text that is not to be translated.

As I see it, it would be very nice to be able to mark aforehand, say in red, the areas that are not to be translated but copied automatically into the target field.

Another option would be to use a different style, as was possible in Trados 2007.

Any ideas?

Simply hide it (it will be not imported in Studio).
I assume you have DOC(X) files.

this works like magic. Only issue left is to remember to ,,turn text back on" after exporting translated file.
