Importing .xls: no new segment at periods?

Hello,

Is it possible to import an .xls file and NOT have a new segment start when Trados sees a period/full stop?

This would be immensely helpful for a job where a client wants each Excel line to be a certain character count, and sometimes a new sentence starts in the middle of an Excel cell. When Trados breaks that cell up into two segments, I don't know for certain if one cell/segment is part of a previous/cell segment.

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

Right-click on your TM in TM Editor View -> Settings -> Language Resources -> Segmentation Rules -> Full Stop Rule -> Remove and you're done but you may have to reimport your file for it to work.

HTH,

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

Exactly what I need -- thanks! Would have taken me forever to find it by myself.
