Working with Windows XP pro SP3, Trados Studio 2009 SP3, get initialization error a few seconds after launching.
Uninstalled all Trados related components, reloaded Trados Studio 2009 fresh, same message.
Could it have to do with plugins? - I updated a lot of plugins for Mozilla last night....
Error message is

System.Management.ManagementException, System.Management, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a
InitializationFailure

System.Management

Try a Studio reset... Jun 27, 2013

....

This article explains what to do (it's for 2011 but apply for 2009):

Studio reset: http://kb.sdl.com/kb/article?ArticleId=4393&source=Article&c=12&cid=23

But only apply the first two as you don't need to change the projects folder for this problem:

  1. C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Local\SDL: delete/rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder
  2. C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL: delete/rename the SDL Trados Studio folder

Don’t do number 3. ie, the projects folder.

Regards

Paul
