How can I find a line back in a XML file?

Hello,

I just delivered a translated XML file and apparently the file contains an error:

Process file : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - OR111255_20130704090747.xml
ERROR: Element '{http://www.authorit.com/xml/authorit}DisplayName' is unexpected according to content model of parent element '{http://www.authorit.com/xml/authorit}Variable'.
Expecting: {http://www.authorit.com/xml/authorit}ListOfValues.

For your information, I translated this file using Trados editor and I used the INI file.
So my question is: how can I find this line number 187? I suppose thats the one that contains the error.

Open the XML in any decent text editor Jul 11, 2013

Open the XML file (it is, in any case, a text file), using any decent Text editor (a good one is Notepad++)

Try this Jul 12, 2013

If line 187 includes the string

{http://www.authorit.com/xml/authorit}DisplayName

try replacing it with

{http://www.authorit.com/xml/authorit}ListOfValues

Btw... anything you try - first make a copy of your file

I managed to fix the problem by running the TM over a clean original file.
