Dear Colleagues,

I use SDL Trados Studio 2011. The computer on which I have it installed is damaged, and it's cheaper to buy a new computer than to repair it. Can I reinstall SDL on my new computer with the same license that I have?

Thank you for your help.

Here is the Knowledge Base article Sep 14, 2013

Hi. You seem to need your license reset.
I hope the following Knowledge Base article will give you an answer.

http://kb.sdl.com/kb/article?ArticleId=4295&source=Article&c=12&cid=23

However, if you have your extra activation code left unused, you need to
use it first, because this functionality is only available when all the codes are in use.

Regards,
Masaet

Deactive License, Delete all Trados files, Reinstall Sep 14, 2013

Hi Hendrik,

I don't know if it works out with Trados 2011, but I managed to install Trados 2007 and 2009 on another computer by deactivating the licenses, deleting everything Trados related and, finally, reinstalling Trados.

I hope this will work out.

Kind regards,
Karel

Thank you! Sep 14, 2013

Thank you. Before posting on the forum I checked my SDL account and noticed the deactivation button. But I didn't want to push it because I thought SDL would ask me to use the same computer on which SDL is installed, so they could deactivate the program on that computer and make sure I don't use it on two computers. I didn't know what would follow if I failed to use the same computer for deactivation, and I can't use it because it's broken. That's why I decided to ask you first.
