Trados Studio 2014 seems to be having some problems handling variables correctly. We have something like 8,000 variables tied into our memory and everything works the way it's supposed to in TS 2011. But in 2014, some variables are not treated as such, especially when it comes to single-word units composed of the variable itself. Instead of being pre-translated using the variable as a basis, a new unit is added to memory, which defeats the whole purpose of variables.
