Hi everybody,

I use both Trados Studio 2009 (SP1) and Trados 2007. A client asked me to do a translation job using Trados and I did it in Trados Studio 2009 and created a TM for it. Now the client requires a TM which he can use in Trados 2007.
Is it possible to export Trados 2009 TM into a format suitable for Trados 2007? If yes, please explain.

Your quick response is highly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Salman

You can Export as TMX Oct 14, 2013

Open Studio
Go to the "Translation Memory" view.
If the TM you need to export is not listed than open it and close it, it will now be listed.
Right Click the TM you want to Export.
Select "Export..."
Browse to the location you want to save.
If you need to Fileter set it using the "Edit" button.
Press Finish

You now have a TMX that can be imported to TRADOS2007

Export as .tmx file Oct 14, 2013

Hi Salman,

Go to "Translation Memories" in Studio. Open the TM you just created. Right-click on the TM and select "Export". The TM will be exported as a .tmx file.

Send .tmx to client.

Hope this helps.

If not, and as 2009... Oct 14, 2013

... does not have the 2007 TMX compatibility export you can use this app from OpenExchange which will produces a “better" format for 2007. There's an article here that may be useful for anyone else with this question : http://wp.me/p2xDjK-91
