This morning I have updated my desktop with Windows 8. I was going to install SDL Trados 2014 Studio Freelance again and it says I am on a trial version of 30 days????? I have the Activation Code and all, but doesn´t work.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Did you return your license before upgrading? Oct 17, 2013

Were you running Studio on Windows 7 before?

You need to return your license (deactivate) before you can reinstall on a new system. If you did not do this you have lost your activation.

But all is not lost. You can contact SDL to have the activation reinstated. This is what I did when my computer died on me and I was unable to return the license. This information was kindly provided by Paul Filkin of SDL.

"Go to

Then go to the tab called Solution Finder and now go here;

Licensing Problems

- I use SDL Trado Studio / SDL Passolo 2011 or 2014

- I need to have my license reset.

Also make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you."

Hi Mar

The licensing team have reset the license for you - before you activate Studio - please make sure you right-click on the Studio shortcut and select the option: 'Run as Administrator' then activate the license.

I hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! Oct 17, 2013

Hi Nick,
Thank you for you step-by-step instructions. I followed them and the SDL team did the rest.
Thank you both!
