Dear colleagues,

I'm looking for a regex that will show all segments that consist of a dot (".") only. No success so far, but my knowledge about regex is very limited. I'd be very grateful for any help.

Kind regards,
Erik

Edit: Just found a solution: ^[\.]$

That will work, but the [] is not necessary. ^\.$ will do the same thing.
[] creates a 'character class'. For instance, you would need it for matching a line that is made up of a single dot, comma or semicolon: ^[\.,;]$
As you only have only one character in there, there is no need for the brackets.
