Dear translators,
My colleagues and I are thinking about buying a new Trados version. We have used the old Suite 2007 Freelance so far. Dear translators,
My colleagues and I are thinking about buying a new Trados version. We have used the old Suite 2007 Freelance so far. Now we are considering using Studio and, what is most important (but rather expensive, I think), sharing our TMs. Unfortunately, the German SDL website is quite promotional rather than informative, IMHO.
I work together with two other translators in a small office. Until now, everyone of us has used their own PC and TM system. We are currently thinking about buying a server.
Fist of all I would like to know what really is the difference, if there is any essential difference, between the Professional and Freelance Versions (2011/2014). According to the German SDL website Professional may be used in certain networks. If so, in which? And what do we need?
If we really go for a network/sharing version, would someone be so kind to explain the difference between Studio Network and GroupShare to me?
Thank you very much in advance for your help!! Best wishes Inga ▲ Collapse
