Hello everyone,

A client sent me a Trados 2011 Word file for external review for a translation.

I translated the column to be translated with Wordfast Anywhere,
then I pasted the translated text into the target column of the Trados Word file.

The translation gets implemented in Trados 2011 without any issue,
but the tags ( etc.) are imported as plain text and not as tags.
This means I should manually implement about 3000 tags by the end of the day...

The client experienced this problem on his side,
and I checked this issue on my side too.

Obviously the tag formatting apparently has no issue in Word,
since it is exactly the same as the original.

Do you know what causes this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Best wishes

Same problem encountered - is there a solution? Feb 10, 2014

I've come across exactly the same issue - did you ever find a solution?

Thanks,
Tomás

Nope... Feb 11, 2014

Hi Tomás,

Nope, unfortunately it turned out I had to copy/paste back all the tags on Word...

By the way, now WFA supports .sdlxliff files,
so there is no need to use the "Export for external review" method anymore, I guess.

You might want to try uploading the original .sdlxliff file on WFA,
and translate it with the TM you have created while translating
the Word file. The segmentation shouldn't change,
so you should just put back the tags where needed.
It's not the best solution for this problem,
but at least you can deliver your translation.

Hope this helps,

Best
