Shortkeys for applying TM matches Thread poster: Rutger Cornets de Groot

Hi, In Studio 2011, I used Alt + 1, Alt + 2, etc. to apply TM results. In Studio 2014, it seems I must use Alt + PgDn to scroll to the match I need, followed by Ctrl + T to apply the result. Am I correct that this is now the procedure? If so, is there a way to revert back to the old method? Thanks, Rutger | | | Shai Navé Israel Local time: 06:30 English to Hebrew + ... If you are using the Default profile then in Studio 2014 the new shortcut is Ctrl + Number (the Alt + Number shortcut is reserved for Ribbon navigation). You can change the shortcuts from the File > Options > Keyboard shortcuts menu, but I don't think that you can set them back to Alt + Number. | | | Emma Goldsmith Spain Local time: 05:30 Member (2004) Spanish to English
The Alt key now clashes with Ribbon behaviour, so in Studio 2014 the shortcut to apply TM results is now Ctrl+Alt (or Alt Gr) plus the number. Not so convenient, and it can clash on European keyboards with other symbols that use the Alt Gr key, but that's the way it is. Your method also works, but probably takes a little longer? Edited to add: Sorry, wrong advice here. Shai's quite right. I customised the shortcut because I found Ctrl+number too awkward.

Great, problem solved. Ctr + Number obviously works just as good as Alt + Number. | |

I found that developing the ability and 'touch' to press the CTRL key with the palm is quite useful. It makes it more convenient to use a CTRL+Upper rows key shortcut. Also, to borrow something from the coding world, some coders switch the functions of the Caps Lock and Ctrl keys. Some find it more convenient, but personally I didn't find it that helpful. I must admit that I didn't try very hard to adjust, it just felt wrong from the start and after a while I just concluded the experiment as "great, but not for me", but there are people who seem to like that arrangement. | | | Emma Goldsmith Spain Local time: 05:30 Member (2004) Spanish to English Workarounds for awkward shortcuts | Dec 19, 2013 |

I've been testing it now and I think it could work using the base of my little finger.
