Hi all!

Since last week, I've had the following problem: When I launch Multiterm I get an error message "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {0F712F92-76E1-4A8E-A998-280D894BEBE2} failed due to the following error: 8007007e". It disappears when I click OK enough of times and Multiterm opens. After that, if I try to open a termbase, I get an error message that "A connection to SDL MultiTerm Server unknown could not be established. Please check your connection settings" and no list of termbases is presented for me to open. Also, if I try to create a termbase in Multiterm I get the same 8007007e error message as when I launch Multiterm and I cannot create a new termbase. So basically, the software is open, but I can't do anything with it.

In Studio, when I open a project that has a termbase in it I get the following error message: "The termbase "xx" could not be connected so term recognition cannot use this termbase" and the termbase does not open. When I click OK, I get the message "The default termbase "xx" could not be connected so term recognition has been disabled". I can use Studio to translate but term recognition does not work.

I have Multiterm 2011 SP2 9.2.361.0 and Studio 2011 SP2R 10.4.3109.2. My operating system is Windows 7, 64-bit, English.

I've searched and searched for a solution for this, but have found none. I have also sent a ticket to SDL about this, but they have not answered yet. Any ideas anyone?

Regards,

Leena

Re-installing Microsoft C++, no help Jan 15, 2014

Re-installed the Microsoft c++, but this did not help. I still get the "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID ..." error when I launch Multiterm. Also, when I start my computer I get a message that Multiterm widget has stopped working and windows is searching for a solution to solve this, but then the message disappears on its own. Does this have anything to do with Multiterm not working?

Regards,

Leena

Solution Finder Jan 16, 2014

Hi Leena

If this was of no help then I can only recommend for now to log a Solution Finder case here: http://kb.sdl.com/?cid=23&tab=sf

Go to:
- Download and Installation Problems
-- I use SDL Trados Studio and/or SDL Multiterm 2009, 2011 or 2014.
--- The installation went fine, but now I get an error message when opening or using the program.
---- The problem occurs in SDL MultiTerm 2011 / 2014.

Enter all the details you have and our Support Team tries to get back asap.
