I need to delete a tag in Trados 2011 that wouldn't fill any meaningful role in the target segment (and in fact would make it grammatically incorrect). How do I do that?

In my case, the tag in question represents the non-breaking hyphen in the following source segment:

Source (Portuguese): "A primeira contratante obriga-se..."

The corresponding target segment should be:

Target (Swedish): "Den första avtalsparten förbinder sig...""

hi Thomas,
with your document open in the Editor view, go the the Format menu. there uncheck the option Protect tags. once unchecked, you can delete the tag just as any other character.
I would think it shouldn't prevent you from producing the target document.
hope my hint was useful.
(my UI is in Spanish, but I think I've given you an accurate translation of the English UI).
