Hi! yesterday I ran a verification on my current project in SDL Studio 2014, then saved and closed my project /trados without any issue.
This morning SDL Trados wouldn't open!
I got the following error message: "failed to load project from '..(path to the project file).....sldproj': There is an error in XML document (231,50). ". hexadecimal value 0x1E, is an invalid character. Line 231, position 50.
I had to change the name of the file so that Trados would open (but not load that project), although I think in the case of such error SDL Studio should open but not load the faulty project.
Then, opening the project file in a text editor, I saw the following at line 231:
"<Messages Level="Error" Message="'', hexadecimal value 0x1E, is an invalid character." Source="Export for External Review"> <ExceptionData><SOAP(...) "
So basically, it looks like an error found during verification (I think) got saved in the project file and since these characters are invalid in XML, they make the project failed to launch.
Obviously a bug.
Deleting the whole text in between the 2 tags < Files > and < /Files > surrounding this error seems to have solved the issue for me.
I hope the bug will get fixed and that this post might help some people who run into the same issue as me.
