Pre-Scanning Error: Invalid File format.

When creating a new project (using both Trados 2011 and 2014), the error occurs. Specifically speaking, when I add the source files (MS Excel), the error appears.

Can anybody help me?

.. the extension is incorrect? Maybe it’s an XLS but has the extension XLSX or something like that? If you can share the file we can take a look?

Regards
