Hello, is there any way do display the original cell formatting of an .xls file in Trados?
The reason for this is that I have an excel file in which the client needs me to translate only the cells in green color. In Trados everything in the source column shows up in black text. Can anyone please help?

Thank you very much.

... but depending on the content of the file perhaps you can use a search and replace to change the colour of the text in all the cells apart from the ones with a green background, and then set that colour to be non-translatable. This way you will be left with only the cells you have to translate in Studio. See this post for more info (it’s the second half of the article) : http://wp.me/p2xDjK-br

If the whole file is very colourful this probably won't be an option as it would be tricky to get the content back as it was afterwards. But again, depending on the layout perhaps you can hide the rows & columns you don’t want and then only the stuff left behind will be parsed for translation in Studio.

Regards

Paul
