Hello,

I have to translate a TXT file with variables. The variables in the target segment are not allowed to be longer than the variables in the source segments.

Is there a function in Studio 2011, which counts the characters of each source segment against the characters of the target segment?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Kind regards

Verena

The character count of each target segment is shown in the status bar at the bottom, but it doesn't show the source count.

You can customise an error warning for target segments that are longer than the source segments under Project settings>Verification>QA checker>Segments Verification.

That should flag longer target segments, but you won't see the warning until you've confirmed the segment and moved to the next.
