Studio 2011 and Multiterm were running perfectly well under Seven and Java 6 untill last week, when I updated Studio with the C13 cumulative update.

Now there is "no entry model" both in Studio and Multiterm.

I have tried to find solutions on other posts: I have uninstalled the Studio update (actually uninstalled Studio and reinstalled an earlier version), updated java (still version 6), uninstalled the java update... with no luck so far.

I don't really fancy installing java 7 or 8, since I am not sure Trados 2007 would still work (some customers require Trados to handle ttx files, and using Studio with these files really messed the tags around the one time I've tried... never again).

Any idea about how to fix this would be welcome!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Leïla

Same problem: no possibility to enter new terms in Multiterm May 9, 2014

I have the same problem in the same situation (Windows 7, and happening after doing the update!!). When trying to enter new terms, either in the Multiterm Desktop version or from the Editor in Studio, both programs are hanging.

Who's got a solution??

New computer, but still on Java 6 due to Studio's instability May 9, 2014

When I got a new computer with Windows 8.1 several weeks ago, Studio installed Java 6.0_24. I immediately disabled automatic updates both on Studio and Java, to avoid precisely the problems you are describing.

It is a very old and unsafe version of Java, but at least I have a working setup. I keep my fingers crossed.

Update: I have (one more time...) reinstalled Studio 2011 SP2R (ver 3046), managed to get back to Java 6 update 14, and although there is "no entry model" (maybe there never was one? I can't remember), I can add terms both in Studio and Multiterm (changes made in one are reflected in the other, I have checked). Don't ask me why, but it worksicon_smile.gif.
I have followed Miguel's advice and disabled the automatic updated in Studio, Multiterm and Java. Fingers crossed!
