Good evening,

my Client has asked me to do a word Count on the 4 files I recently translated, one Excel and 3 word files.

Have never done this before.

What I have done is that I created a Project with those 4 source files and then did the word Count.

However, Trados is giving me only the 100%, 99-95% and 94-85%.

So let's say one files has 1000 words. Trados says that this file consists of:

500x 100%
300x 99-95%
200x 94-85%

Where are the "no match" words?

Can anyone help please? Does it help if I say that there are a lot of strings and a few tags, and that the file does have many repetitions, but it can't be all of them

Thank you!
Carmen

Analyse task Jun 14, 2014

The "analyse files" task is part of the batch tasks performed during project preparation.

Click on "Reports" in the bottom left corner to see the result of the analysis.
"No match" is called "new" in the analysis report.

You can adjust your fuzzy match bands (i.e. how to split into percentage ranges) by going to your Project settings, Language Pairs, your language pair, batch tasks, fuzzy bands.

If you change these, then re-run "Analyse Files" in Batch Tasks by right clicking your project in the project list, or by selecting a group of files in the file list and doing the same.

You can export the analyse report by opening the Reports view again, and right clicking "Analyze files" in the left margin. Choose "save as".

Hope this helps,
Emma

I can only go as low as 30% with the minimum fuzzy match Jun 14, 2014

Hi Emma,

thank you for your Support.

The fuzzy bands are preset with some ranges and I can go as low as 30 for min/max.

Is that what you meant? I know that "no match" are the new ones, but with my previous Methode, "new" was "Zero"...

The plot thickens Jun 15, 2014

Well, it does sound odd now.

You could open one of your files in Studio and have a quick look through (clicking in several different segments) to see if you can spot segments with matches below 85%, which aren't being reported.

It would be interesting to confirm that they definitely exist.

Apart from that, I've run out of ideas. Sorry!

I think the problem lies in the project ... Jun 15, 2014

Thank you again, Emma, for your Input.

I tried to count one single file in Trados and it worked perfectly well. Somewhere in the process of creating a Project there must be something I did wrong. So will have to do each file separately.

Thank you, Emma!
