Dear colleagues,

If I want to use the option "save target" in Trados Tag Editor an error message tells me that the file I want to save cannot be found.

Can any of you tell me how to solve the problem?

I am looking forward to your answers!

Have a nice week-end!

The ttx file name must not be modified. The source file needs to be in the same folder as the ttx you are trying to save as target.

Does not work, either Aug 23, 2014

I cannot save as target, either, if I do not change the original file name. I have just tried it.

Do you have the original file? Aug 25, 2014

It might be an obvious question but, TagEditor needs the original file used to create the *.ttx file (e.g. a doc, docx, ppt, etc.). A ttx file is not considered the original file.

Regards
Clarisa

"save as target" impossible, because no original file available (TRADOStag document file, ttx) Aug 26, 2014

Hi Clarisa,

That's it. The agency has just told me that they did not have the original file.

I don't like working in these files without being able to see the entire target text.

But anyway - I was supposed to send the bilingual and not the target file to the customer. So everything worked out well.

Thanks to everybody for your answers!
