SDL 2014 Align maximum document size

Whenever I try to align documents that are over 60 or so pages, SDL starts to align them, the loading bar gets to a certain point then just stops (i.e. it crashes, although the program itself doesn't crash).

The documents tend to just be words, no images, but with a lot of tables.

The last document with which this happened was 3,423 KB .

Is there any solution to this other than splitting the document in half? I have tried this and it does work but sometimes I have to split the document into quarters for it to work.

Thanks,

Georgina.
