Returning extra activations

I've searched extensively for an answer to this question, but can't find one, so if it's an old chestnut I apologise in advance!!!

I started using Studio 2014 earlier this year and use the extra activation for a laptop installation. I now have a new laptop and want to effectively 'transfer' the extra activation to that machine. So is it possible to return the extra activation only from my old laptop and then reactivate on the new one? Or... do I have to return the licence in full, thereby disabling my main - desktop - installation?

This situation must happen very frequently, but I can't it discussed anywhere online. Any help will be very gratefully received

Many thanks

You can do this yourself... Nov 4, 2014

... by using the Self Service option in your MySDL account for SDL Trados Studio 2011 and 2014.

Go to KB article #5196 ( ) and follow the instructions.

Hi Paul and thanks for the reply. Will this process return just the extra activation or the entire licence? If it's the entire licence, then are the extra activations reset?
