Trados and MadCap Lingo
Thread poster: Technical Translation Services ---------
Nov 11, 2014

I was wondering if there is a way to convert an .xlf file that was created in MadCap Lingo into another format, that could be used with older versions of Trades. I use SDL Trades 2014, but most of our translators do not have the newest version. From my understanding older versions of Trades do not work with the MadCap Lingo files.

What type of file could be used that we can convert to and back from .xlf properly?

MadCap Lingo files Nov 12, 2014

I have a client who has just introduced MadCap for their software documentation, but I don't know yet which module they have or if they will be using Lingo. They themselves are new to MadCap and don't really know how to use it yet, so I have the opportunity to 'guide' them a little. Are there any issues using Studio 2014 on MadCap files, can they be read into Studio?

If anyone has any experience , tips or advice I would like to hear it.

Regards
Ben
