If you have ever read the SDL Trados manual which is in pdf format, you probably know that there are three ways by which you can create an AutoSuggest dictionary. Look at the picture. In the AutoSuggest Dictionaries section, you can find this option which is the last. How can one create an AutoSuggest Dictionary using AutoText entries?

If you're in the middle of a project, highlight the word you want to add from the target segment, click Alt+F7, Add, Enter.
That word will then be offered as an AutoSuggestion when you start to type it again in another segment. The good thing is that, unlike other AutoSuggest resources, it doesn't rely on what's in the source segment, just on the first 4 characters you type.

Make sure you enable it in Tools>Options>Autosuggest (tick it in the AutoSuggest provider list).

An AutoSuggest dictionary can only be created from a TM, not from an AutoText list.

As the Studio manual explains, AutoText is a one of the providers that Studio uses to offer you suggestions as you write. Studio uses termbases and autosuggest dictionaries the same way, to offer you suggestions as you write.
