Using OpenExchange with a company license

Hi,

I work as an in-house translator. I would like to use TermInjector but I can't download it because I don't have my own license for Trados Studio. The company I work for provides this software (SDL Trados Studio 2014 Express) and I guess they have some form of corporate license. Is there anyway I can install OpenExchange apps? Perhaps by linking the company license to my account somehow?

Many thanks,
Tom

You can install them... Feb 10, 2015

... but they'll have to provide them. They are indeed linked to the account. So just ask whoever gave you the license to also get the apps you need.

Regards

Paul

The IT department should install this for you Feb 11, 2015

Follow Paul's suggestion, not only because you can't download the SW yourself, but mainly because you'll probably not be able to install it on your PC. Users in a corporate environment usually do not have any admin rights on their computer to avoid that they install software on their own.

Admin/User Directories Feb 11, 2015

On a related note: For some plug-ins Studio seems to look for the relevant files in the user directory of the user who's running Studio, e.g.

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11\Plugins\ or
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Floating\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11\Plugins\

I had OpenExchange apps installed by an admin account a couple times, and in some (but not all) cases I had to move the files from the admin user's directory to my own one before the new features would show up for me in Studio.
