When trying to open SDL Studio 2014 we receive this message error: Service 'Sdl.TranslationStudio.Api.ProjectManagement.IProjectManagementService' could not be started. We have looked in the knowledge base at SDL website and the solution provided has not been helpful ( SDL recommends to delete the file entitled Sdl.Enterprise.ServerConnectionManager.xml but unfortunately I couldn't find this xml file on the folder location - I also checked that I could see any hidden files. I really don't know what to do next since I haven't found any other information to solve this problem. Thank you for any tips or assistance!

Try all possible KBs and try removing the Trados settings Jan 8, 2017

I guess you have the latest version of T2011 installed and you have already looked for all possible KBs. Do also an enquiry for the correct JAVA versions that Studio 2011 needs to run correctly. I vaguely remember there was a big issue with a java version and the version number with 45 at the end, just make an advanced search in these exact forum CAT topic.
All the Trados settings are located in either the ProgramData folder or in [User]\Appdata\Local\SDL that contains xml files for the settings.
The Project.xml should be located in [User]\Documents\Trados 2011\Projects.
I would move all these files in a BACKUP folder and run a repair of Trados for the case that files are missing or corrupt in the program folder; if so, the repair will add them again but you also need to re-patch again as for any special KB solution (CU, hotfixes etc.)
If all goes well, all setting files should be written again in the above locations and the program should start.

If all this doesn't work you will have to go a step further: de-install all SDL programs (return your licenses before), backup your project folder, remove all SDL folders on your computer, remove all SDL registry entries, re-start computer, get the right Java versions installed and activated, do a clean install of Studio, Multiterm and patch these with the latest CU and hotfixes. Hopefully this will solve it.

Keep in mind that T2011 is likely not forward-compatible with new Java versions or the newest file types for translation import. So if your system works, then DON'T allow any new Java versions to be installed and overwritten. A good practise is to make Windows Restore Points on a weekly basis, it only takes seconds to do and it can save you a lot of trouble.

I hope you get it to run!

Solved!!! Jan 8, 2017

I have SDL Trados 2014.

I found this solution and now it worksicon_wink.gif

C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Local\SDL: rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder
C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL: rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder
C:\Users\[User_Name]\Documents\Studio [VERSION]: rename the Studio [VERSION folder to Studio [VERSION]_Old

Thank you for taking the time to suggest me your solutions!

Best regards,
