Hello
I have purchased Studio 2014 and must now get rid of Trados 2007 to proceed with installation.

However:
- Trados 2007 does not appear in my list of installed apps, so I cannot uninstall if from the control panel
- There is no uninstall file in the Trados 2007 folder to allow me to uninstall it

Does any one have an idea on how to get rid of Trados 2007 without those 2 options?

Thank you for your timely response.

Anne-Sév

Deleting TRADOS 2007 Feb 24, 2015

On my computer TRADOS 2007 shows under Program Files as 2 folders SDL International and SDL TRADOS. In the control panel under Add/remove programs (Windows XP) I see SDL Trados 2007 Freelance, SDLX. So if you don't see TRADOS there, it means it was not installed under Program/ Files. So you will need to delete the folders directly where you put them.

If you have Trados 2007 installed.... Feb 24, 2015

... there is no need to uninstall it. Studio 2014 and Trados 2007 will co-exist quite happily!

If you don't have it then no worries!

What makes you think you have to uninstall Trados 2007?

As mentioned by DanieleH Feb 24, 2015

Control panel - Trados 7 - delete, but why should you delete it?

TOPIC STARTER
Studio 2014 and Trados 2007 - Resolved Feb 25, 2015

When you install Studio 2014 and that Trados 2007 is already installed on your computer, you get an error message saying that you must uninstall it to proceed.
My Trados 2007 was installed as a pakage with Studio 2011, which is why I assume I could not see under control panel.
Work around:
I found the Trados 2007 box I had purchased a few years back, inserted the install CD, uninstalled the workbench from there and, yes, it was finally gone and I was able to install Studio 2014.

I am now going to try to reinstall the workbench as some clients still have projects coming in that format.

Thank you all for your replies.

If you reinstall 2007... Feb 25, 2015

... please make sure you use the version that came with Studio 2011 and nothing older. This is because Studio 2014 does have some components of 2007 installed with it and these will be the latest versions. So you don't want anything older to overwrite these particular parts just in case they cause problems when using Studio 2014 for TTX files for example.

And what.... Feb 25, 2015

... if you got a version that came with Studio 2009? Does that means you can't install it together with Studio 2014?

PS) I use now Studio 2011, but got my Trados 7 with Studio 2009.
