I am very new to Trados and I haven't used for for work yet.
I have been loading in documents that I already have and then aligning them to create TMs. I have managed to do a few translations and then download the documents.
What I would like to do is align an original and translated document that are both formatted. Correct the translated version and then download a corrected document.
I can't work out how I can do this and I don't know if it is possible. I have watched the tutorial videos and attended two webinars, very useful but I still can't work it out. All my searching brought me here.

... you are making are in the alignment file. So if you want a corrected version of the translation after having aligned them then you have to open the source again, pre-translate from the TM you just made and then save the target.
The reason for this is because the alignment bilingual is not the same as an sdlxliff and it doesn't contain the binaries that an sdlxliff uses to create the original formatted file. The alignment files could be completely different source and target file formats so Studio uses a different mechanism for this.
