Cannot activate available extra activation

I have 1 available extra activation for SDL Trados 2007m but when trying to activate it receive the message that activation code is invalid (error 50040).
Search in the SDL KB and Solution Finder didn't help. As I have no maintenance agreement, I would appreciate very much any help!

Hi Natasha,

You can reset your own license by using the Self Service option in your MySDL account for SDL Trados 2007 and SDL Trados Studio 2009.

Go to KB article #4295 ( http://kb.sdl.com/kb/article?ArticleId=4295 ) and follow the instructions.

Of course I found and read this article, but this didn't help. The computer on which I'm trying to activate the license has no license. I returned my license from another machine - my account showed 2 extra activations available, then succesfully activate it again on the other machine, but when trying to do the same on another laptop receive the message that activation code is invalid (account still list 1 available extra activation).
What could be a problem?

Pick the correct route for you and if appropriate you will be presented with a form that you can fill in to generate a support request and you will be contacted, normally within a day.

Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form, and make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.
