XML question: Studio does not extract element as inline tag

Hi all,

I'm translating a number of XML files (in DITA standard) and have come across an issue with the element. When the keyword element is used at the beginning of a sentence, Studio ignores it, that is, does not create an inline tag for it.

Example:
uses adapters to link up with other sources of information
that are helpful in ...

In Studio, the segment looks like this:
uses adapters to link up with other sources of information that are helpful in ...

I would have expected this:
[tag] uses adapters to link up with other sources of information that are helpful in ...

Interestingly, if the keyword appears within a sentence (i.e., not at the beginning), Studio correctly creates an inline tag.

In my XML: OASIS DITA 1.2 parser settings, I have the following rule:
//keyword / Translatable (except in protected content) / inline.

Does anybody know why Studio behaves like this, and how I can fix it?

Many thanks in advance,
Anne

Segmentation hint Jun 17, 2015

Hi,

I can't test this right now, but it might be worth a shot:

Select the keyword rule -> Edit -> Advanced -> Segmentation hint

Change that from "undefined" to "include".

Does that work?

Yesssss! Fixed using the segmentation hint Jun 18, 2015

Hi Stephan,

Thanks for that, it worked! After I set the segmentation hint to "include" the keyword is now nicely displayed as a tag.

Thank you very much!
Anne
