Trados 2014/2015 has problems with language variants when saving terms in termbases

I already saw this issue in Trados 2014 but it's also present in Trados 2015.
I have a termbase with about 10 languages (including language variants) I work with.
The variants being. DE-DE, DE-AT, DE-LU, FR-FR, FR-LU. Now the problem is that with a translation file for a specific language variant Trados does not save terms to the correct variant although the termbase languages are correctly mapped to the correct language code. The latest termbase has been set up in Multiterm 2015.
Say if I work in DE-DE (German (Germany)) it constantly saves terms to DE-AT (German (Austria)). For a termbase without DE-AT: DE-LU (German (Luxembourg)) terms they get saved to DE-DE (German (Germany)).
Strange enought this does not happen for all projects but only in some projects.
Anyone has encountered this issue too or knows a way how to correct this?
