Workbench can't convert a document to RTF because of an OLE/COM error or a wrong file name.
What is due to?

Try to save the document as RTF Feb 4, 2005

Hi,
Trados converts documents to RTF (Rich Text Format) before cleanup, and restores .doc after the process is complete.

Try to save the document as RTF in Word.

If that doesn't work either, at least you'll know the source of the problem - possible causes include embedded graphics (which can blow up file size, as Word needs to convert these into Windows metafiles to maintain compatibility).

Assuming that this occurs upon cleanup, you can use the TW4WinClean.Main macro in Word. This will remove all source segments and tags from the document. Caution: This will not update your TM with any subsequent changes - so create a backup copy of the file before starting the macro.

HTH, Ralf
