Hello everyone

I've newly upgraded to Trados 2015. How can I clear all target texts in one operation, and how can I copy source to target for all segments in one operation?

Thanks
Samuel

Segment number column Sep 13, 2015

Select all segments like this:
Click segment 1 in the segment number column.
Use the shortcut Ctrl+end to go to the end of your file.
Click in the last segment in the segment number column using Shift+left-mouse button.

Now, right click on top of the segment number and select copy source to target or clear target.

To copy source you may also use SHIFT-ALT-INS Sep 13, 2015

Samuel

To copy the source text of alle segments to target, you can also use SHIFT-ALT-INS.
This is shorter because it does not require you to first select all segments.

Copy to source in all the segments with one operation in Trados Studio 2015 Sep 5, 2016

Hi
Today I found this solution that I'd like to share with all:
1. Go to Files stage in the navigation pane.
2. Visualize the source file.
3. Right click the name of the source file.
4. Select among Batch Tasks this option: "Copy to Target languages".

I also use Déjà Vu with which I can do the same operation through Pre-translate function. In Trados Studio, it was difficult to find how to do.

I am afraid that you mix up two different things. The batch task you mention does not copy source segments to the target segments within a file, it copies the files in the source subfolder of the project into the target subfolder, which is an entirely different thing.

I also use Déjà Vu with which I can do the same operation through Pre-translate function. In Trados Studio, it was difficult to find how to do.

"Pretranslate" is again another thing. It does not copy source to target, it fills the target with the 100% matches it found in the translation memory.
Again, two completely different things.

Walter
