Hi everybody,

I am trying to install Trados 6.0 on windows XP Professional. It stops right before the installation assistant pops up. Error message: 'Install script engine'. Does XP Pro support Trados 6.0? If yes, what's a script engine and where to find it?

Thanks for your ideas.

Best regards
Eva

Hi Eva,
Can you please provide some more details?
Which version of WinXP Pro are you using (any service packs installed)?
Are you using an account with administrator rights when installing?
Are you installing from a CD, or did you download the software?

Does XP Pro support Trados 6.0?

It does indeed.

If yes, what's a script engine and where to find it?

This is part of the Install Shield application that is used to install software on your computer. It's part of the install program, so I would suspect that something's wrong with the installation package.

Would you have the exact error message?

Best regards, Ralf

TOPIC STARTER
thanks, I'll get into the installation issue Feb 9, 2005

Thanks Ralf, as I have encountered other problems, I'll try and fix the installation, then get back to Trados which will then hopefully work.

Best regards
Eva
