When setting segmentation rules in the language resources of a TM, what is the difference between space and whitespace?

Is space/whitespace affected by what follows? Oct 29, 2015

Does anyone know if segmentation is affected by what follows a space or whitespace? For example, if the space or whitespace is followed by a letter or by a number?
