Dear all

Perhaps you can help me solve this issue...
Client sends TTX file for proofreading and want TTX file (bilingual) back.
Opening the file in Studio 2014 is no problem, save as does not provide the option to save as a ttx file, only Save target as.
Is there any way I can deliver the bilingual proofread file in TTX format using Studio 2014?

Thanks in advance!

Save target as Nov 12, 2015

is what you need: the target file format will be TTX.

Thanks but... Nov 12, 2015

Thank you for your response... the client want a bilingual file so 'Save target as' is no option... if we could only work with one or two CAT tools...

TTX is a bilingual file Nov 12, 2015

Hi Channa,

TTX is a bilingual file, so Natalie's advice is spot-on: when you choose Save Target As, that will produce a TTX that will contain both the source text and the proofread target text.

Why do you think that "Save target as" is no option? Did you try it? If you apply this command to a TTX file, Studio asks you whether you wan to save as "TRADOSTag Document" (which is TTX) or as "Original File Format" (which would be the format from which the TTX was created).

So, if you choose "TRADOSTag", you get exactly what you want, namely TTX.

Walter

Problem solved! Nov 14, 2015

Dear all

Thank to you! I proofread the file in Studio 2014 and sent the file back as TTX (via save target as)... I think I made a mistake, thinking only (in my case) Dutch was saved. Looks good and hopefully the client thinks the same.
