Hello,

is it possible to upgrade to Trados Studio 2014?

My SDL Account offers only upgrades to various versions of Trados Studio 2015.

Thanks,

Ana

Upgrades Dec 15, 2015

Hello Ms Milosevic,

This is Guillaume from SDL.

It is only possible to upgrade to the latest version of the software, not a legacy version.

If you need further assistance regarding upgrades, please do not hesitate to contact us via the chat: bit.ly/SDLChat

Kind regards,

Guillaume

Why upgrade to 2014? Dec 15, 2015

I am puzzled why you would want to upgrade to 2014 without having tried 2015.

But anyway, I believe normal practice is that the developer of software only allows upgrades to the latest version, not earlier versions. But you could of course ask SDL directly.

Upgrades are always to the most current version Dec 15, 2015

Hi Ana

You can only upgrade to the latest version, which currently is 2015. This is usual practice, the same as for other software vendors.

And yes, I share my surprise with Roy: why would you upgrade to a version, which is not the most recent?

Walter

Well, some Windows XP users may prefer to upgrade to Windows 7 rather than Windows 8 or 10. And I wouldn’t blame them . In fact, last March, I deliberately chose to order my new laptop with Windows 7 preinstalled, and I plan to stay with it for the next 4-5 years.

That said, I would also be interested in the argument(s) for Studio 2014 vs. Studio 2015.
