Hi,

is it possible to create a segmentation rule with the result that the tag char name="Indent" is shown as own segment?

At the moment, Studio shows the following:
Segment number 20: Example text
Segment number 21: char name="Indent" Text text text

I would like to have to following segmentation rule:
Segment number 20: Example text
Segment number 21: char name="Indent"
Segment number 22: Text text text

Is this possible? If yes, how?

Thank you very much in advance and best regards
Beate

... first and then it may be simple. I also redid your post to show the entities correctly.

1. What kind of file are you translating?
2. Did you prepare the project or is it a package?

More information :-) Dec 16, 2015

Hi Paul,

1. It's an Indesign file (.idml).
2. I prepare the project in SDL Studio 2015 (and then I usually create packages for translators). At the moment, we set up new TMs and therefore, I wonder if it is possible to create such a segmentation rule, since the tag char name="Indent" occurs quite often in our Indesign files.

Thanks in advance and best regards
Beate

Custom segmentation rule Dec 17, 2015

Hi Beate,

Try creating a new segmentation rule by doing the following:

Go to your TM settings - Language Resources - Segmentation Rules, click Edit, then Add. Enter a description for your new rule, then click Advanced View.

In the Before break box, delete the regular expression included there and enter "Indent" plus the rest of the characters that you want to include before the segmentation break, leaving the After break box as it is.

Save your rule, and that should do it, you're now ready to process your file.
