Unable to update ToC once source file is translated.
Word tool indicates no fields to be updated (Target file).
ToC in Target file is incomplete. Only a few items.
ToC in source document is not corrupted and is generated.
This only happened to me when starting using using TRADOS 2015.
Need to translate it manually.
I read all previous posts about this but could not get the clue.
Thank you for your assistance whenever possible.

Same as 2014 Dec 27, 2015

This problem existed in Trados 2014 too so apparently it is not yet solved.
The only thing I read was to do the table of contents on your own (or translate manually like you wrote) because Trados does not recognize it properly.

I am curious to read solutions to this.

Not yet come to a solution Dec 28, 2015

Thanks Harry for your comment.
Further to my post, I discovered that the source text did not follow the ToC, hence the Word feature cannot update the ToC since the necessary marks do not sit there either in the source or in the target text. This might be the explanation, although I am still wondering why the ToC remains like it is (in the source text) since the text does not follow the ToC.

Thanks.

ToC Dec 28, 2015

Studio "skips" ToC in its Editor and adds a hyperlink "TOC" (kind of "temporary bookmark/tag") when saving target. If headings are marked properly, you can update the "TOC hyperlink" and get your table of content as translated.
However (as far as I understood) your grayed ToC has nothing to do with headings in the text. Maybe this is why you see your ToC as is (in source language). Just because it is not connected to relevant [translated] headings.

I guess this is the point Dec 28, 2015

Hi Stepan,

I guess that what you wrote is the right explanation. I came to that end myself. Actually, it doest not look as a Trados problem but as a source file problem.

Thanks.
