Rather than Studio Starter Edition, you may want to consider a full-fledged, yet reasonably priced tool like CafeTran, which can handle both SDLXLIFF
(documents) and SDLPPX
(packages) file types. These are the most common requirements from "Trados clients".
CafeTran is available
both as an annual subscription (80 euros, ie. cheaper than Studio Starter Edition) and as a one-time purchase (200 euros, ie. a fraction of the cost of Studio Freelance Edition).
To compare them, watch my "First steps with..." videos:

That sounds interesting, Dominique! Some translation bureaus I would like to work for require Trados. How do such companies react when you say "No, but I have CafeTran, which is fully compatible"? Or don't you mention the fact and do you say you have SDL Trados. I would feel a bit uneasy about the latter option myself (plus, then CafeTran would need to be a 100% compatible, and not 'only' 98 or 99% ...).
