Hello,

how can I translate individual pages of a WORD document in SDL Trados Studio 2015 without changing the others?

Is that possible? In case it is not possible, there would be a workaround to save individual pages of the document with a macro and translate them ony by one in Trados.

Using hidden font Jan 13, 2016

Hello!

I usually select the text which I am not going to translate in WORD and make the font hidden. This hidden text will not be seen in Trados. After translation, in the clean file, I select all the text and uncheck "hidden" in the font menu.

You can use Hide/Unhide Text tool which comes with TransTools for Word plug-in. This free tool allows you to hide everything except text that you highlight with a special highlight color. You can use Hide/Unhide Text tool which comes with TransTools for Word plug-in. This free tool allows you to hide everything except text that you highlight with a special highlight color. So, to translate the pages, just use the Highlight Color tool in Word to highlight the pages that you need to translate, say in Yellow unless Yellow highlight color is already used elsewhere in the document, then run Hide/Unhide Text tool, select the first option (Hide everything except colored text), pick the same highlight color, and then press Continue. This will make everything else hidden. Save the document and import into Studio, and after the translated document is generated, use Hide/Unhide Text tool again with Option 3 (Unhide everything) to make everything visible, and then clear the highlight color.
