Unfortunately, I had another job to do and I wanted to transfer the project to other linguist but he is not familiar with Trados at all . Therefor, Is there any possibility to export the xliff file from my machine for external translation in MS Word ? Thank you in advance for your kind advice .

Save target as Feb 2, 2016

Just select "save target as" under File and you should be able to save it as a Word document.

Export for bilingual review Feb 2, 2016

You need to "export for bilingual review" (First icon on the review tab).
All target segments need to have content before the export, so copy source to target, if you haven't done that already.

For more detailed advice read this excellent blog post:

Emma is right Feb 2, 2016

Sorry, I read too quickly. If you need a bilingual file and TM then you need to follow Emma's instructions, that will produce a two column Word file for the translator to work in that you can reimport into Studio once complete.

Export xliff file from trados Feb 2, 2016

Many thanks Emma,

But what if the imported file is with track change? And is there any easy way to copy source segment to target ones?

Track changes in "export for bilingual review" Feb 2, 2016

Because most people use "Export for bilingual review" for review purposes, by default, the Word document will be opened in track change mode and when you import the updated file, you will see the track changes in Studio.
Your translator can switch off track changes in Word, and then you won't see them in the sdlliff file.

Yes, click "copy all source to target" (next to the confirm icon on the home tab).
