Hello to all,

I'm sorry for my desperate "topic name" but that's how I feel rigth now with Trados 2011.

Today, I have switched on my pc, opened Trados 2011 and a window appeared (instalation wizard) telling me that it would guide me through the instalation. It appeared strange to me because I hadn't unsinstalled it. But, nevertheless, I followed the instructions and installed it.

Then, I went to open a project file (.sdlproj) and this messaged appeared:

Task: Open Project

Arguments:

I contacted Trados support and told me to uninstall my antivirus (Eset nod), then update Windows and then right click on "run repair" on the control panel for Trados.

The problem is that I still can't open that file (project file). I hadn't saved all the translated segments into the TM because I wanted to give them a second look and now I find myself with almost nothing translated and it is a really big project.

Does anyone know how I can solve this out, please? I'm in really need of this.

Thanks a lot for all your help in advance!!

Diana.

System recovery Feb 22, 2016

What about a system recovery? One or two days earlier might work.

Have you tried opening the sdlxilff file you were working on directly? Feb 22, 2016

Hi Diana,

I have no idea what's happening with your Trados installation and why it doesn't work.
Have you tried rebooting the computer?

Assuming you were translating into Spanish, your file should be in a folder called es-ES in the project folder. Clicking on the bilingual sdlxilff file should open it in Trados with all your translated segments. I strongly suggest saving segments in a TM to make sure you can reconstruct the translation, even if the file gets lost or becomes corrupted.

As long as you have the sdlxilff file in the target language, you have the translation.

To check the translation later, open the file for Review after you finish.

HTH,
Sandra

Thanks a lot!! Feb 22, 2016

Dear Elias and Sandra& Kenneth,

thanks a lot for your replies!

Sandra, that works!! Thank you for your suggestion!

In fact, I don't know what has happent to my Trados and why the project file doesn't open... but anyway, the important thing now is that I have recovered my translation!

Have a nice day to all of you!

Best regards,

Diana.
